3-day alpine - First timers (7yrs-adults) South Point
Description
3-day ALPINE SKIING COURSE - FIRST TIMER/green (children from 7 yrs - adults)
You don’t have previous experience in alpine/downhill skiing. We teach you the basics and you become familiar with your equipment. We practice e.g. balance skills, how to fall safely and get up independently, how to glide on skis, and how to stop and make turns. Training will be held on the South slopes and the Leevilandia area on flat and easy slopes. You become familiar with beginner ski lifts ( Magic carpet lift and button "poma" lift) and slope safety. The target is to be able to ski on your own on easy (blue) slopes and enjoy your new experience and skills.
3-day group lessons are available for children ages 7-11 years and 12 years - adults. The groups are divided into children and adults.
Group lessons start on Mondays. Lessons are held on consecutive days for 1 hour and 30 minutes daily.
There are three starting/skill levels:
Green - First-timer, Blue - Beginner, Red - Intermediate
*Each course content and learning path is adapted to the needs and progression of the group.
The language of instruction is primarily English.
During weeks 9 - 11/2025 there are 2-day Werneri skiing courses for children.

Schedule for group green - first-timers:
7-11yrs children (during weeks 49/'24 - 8/2025)
12 yrs - adults (during weeks 49/'24 - 14/2025)
- MON-WED at 2 - 3.30 pm (weeks 49/2024 - 7/2025) * excp. Week 52 TUE 24 DEC at 12 - 1.30 pm
- MON-WED at 12 -1.30 pm (weeks 8-14/2025)
Meeting point: At the bottom of the South Point 8.4 slope, on snow at the ski school skill level signs. The instructor in the blue uniform asks by name when the lesson starts.
Note:
- Please make sure you are on time and at the right meeting place.
- For your information, we cannot promise a change of teaching place or a transfer of already purchased time.
- Levi Ski School has the right to combine groups or offer an alternative lesson and time if there are not enough participants. e.g. with two participants, the course is shortened to 2 day
- Please note that for all ski lifts and in Leevilandia you need a valid ski pass or Leevilandia area ticket during the lesson time. Ski school prices do not include equipment rental or ski passes.
- Equipment needs to be ready/rented before the lesson. Please reserve enough time for equipment rental. Rent equipment from the webstore in advance. We recommend a standard ski set and a helmet.
- Rentals are located: South Point / South Slopes and Zero Point / Front Slopes.
We follow the Finnish Ski Area Association (FSAA) terms of delivery of ski school services.
