Description
Snowboarding Level 0 – Green: Learn to Snowboard (children from 8 yrs - adults)
You have no previous snowboarding experience. This course teaches the basic skills of snowboarding in a safe environment.
The course includes practice in:
• Handling and controlling the snowboard, and slope rules
• Safe falling and getting up
• Sliding, stopping, and controlling speed
• Turns on toe and heel edges
• Using lifts (magic carpet and button or anchor lifts)
Training takes place on the flat areas of Leevilandia and the south slope, as well as on easy slopes suitable for first-timers and beginners.
For the course, you will need equipment, and for the first lesson, a Leevilandia area ticket. For the following days, you’ll need either an area ticket or a ski pass, depending on your group’s progress.
Goal: To learn to snowboard independently on easy (blue) slopes with control, and to enjoy new skills and the feeling of success.
Snowboarding Level 1 – Blue: Smoother Turns, More Confidence on Snowboarding (children from 8 yrs - adults)
You’ve already taken your first steps in snowboarding. You can snowboard down the easy (blue) slopes, but you still feel a bit insecure on your riding, and the turns in both directions need to be honed.
We develop turning techniques and link turns smoothly. The goal of the 3-day course is to learn snowboarding in a controlled and smoother way on more demanding slopes. Learning some small snow contact tricks will increase your snowboard skills.
For the course, you will need equipment and a ski pass.
Goal: Become a more confident snowboarder– and enjoy the slopes like never before!
Duration: 3 days, 3 x 1.5 hours
Courses start on Mondays and run for three consecutive days, 1.5 hours per day.
There are two starting/skill levels for snowboarding: check the skill levels
Level 0 Green - First-timer/beginner
Level 1 Blue - Low Intermediate

* Each group’s learning path and pace are adapted to the participants’ needs and progression.
The primary language of instruction is English.

Schedule for level 0 green - First timer:

Schedule for level 1 blue - low intermediate:

Meeting point: At the bottom of the South Point 8.4 slope, on snow at the ski school skill level signs. The instructor in the blue uniform asks by name when the lesson starts.
Note:
- You are responsible for having the equipment, ski pass, or area pass ready at the starting point of the lesson at the agreed time.
- An already purchased product cannot be changed or rescheduled.
- During lessons, a valid ski pass or a Leevilandia area ticket is required, depending on skill level.
- For the first lesson at first timer/beginner-green-level 0, a Leevilandia area ticket is required for the duration of the lesson. For the following days, either a Leevilandia area ticket or a valid ski pass is required, depending on the progress of the skill level.
- Note that the Leevilandia area ticket includes use of the Ski Bus.
- For the level 1 blue, a normal ski pass is required.
- Ski school prices do not include equipment rental or ski passes.
- Equipment needs to be ready / rented before the lesson. Please reserve enough time (at least 45 minutes) for equipment rental. Purchase the equipment hire from the webstore in advance. We recommend a snowboard set and a helmet.
- Rentals are located: South Point / South Slopes and Zero Point / Front Slopes
We follow the Finnish Ski Area Association (FSAA) terms of delivery of ski school services.
